2018 GMC Canyon crew Cab
Mid size pickup trucks are the best for family, traveling and for transport business, GMC canyon is the sensible choice for someone who is looking for a comfort oriented midsize pickup truck. From 2015 2nd generation of GMC Canyon is present in the market and among the recent revival of midsize pickup trucks Canyon still stands as a favorable choice among its class. There are four different trim levels available in Canyon including Base trim, SLE trim, SLT & Denali (Denali is the most expensive & premium among Canyon trim levels).
Design Dynamics of GMC Canyon:
GMC has bold and aggressive design but has same design cues as it was released in 2015, very few changes has been made in 2018 year model. GMC canyon is much related and similar to Chevrolet Colorado and major difference is among their designs while Colorado Pickup trucks are considered among Premium pickup trucks.
Exterior Dynamics:
In 2018 canyon very few notable changes has been made; larger head unit has been made standard on lower trim levels as well & addition of some new exterior colors. Heated exterior mirrors are available with blind spot monitoring but blind spot warning system is absent in Canyon. Halogen projector beam Headlights, LED day time running lights and fog lights are standard on all the trims.
Interior Dynamics:
Interior of GMC canyon is full of features and among the most futuristic interiors in the mid size pickup truck class, it has plenty of soft touch padding on door panels and top of the dashboard with pretty nice finishing. It has 8 inch touch screen display with GMC infotainment system but this isn’t the newest interface available by GMC but still fairly intuitive, apple car play and android auto also available with the system.  Combination of cloth and leather upholstery with unique red stitching is also available for all the trim levels, overall it has beautiful interior that may require some upgrades but still competitive in its class.
Engine and Power:
There are two different gasoline engine choices are available with Canyon; Base engine 2.5 liter with 4 cylinders should be avoided as it is very sluggish and pretty lackluster when it comes to acceleration while 3.6 liter V6 is pretty strong, potent and found throughout many of General Motors vehicles. V6 3.6 liter engine produces 308 horse power and 372 nm @4000 Rpm of torque, with V6 it can tow up 3500 pounds of weight. Fuel efficiency of canyon is reasonable which is 17 in city and 24 on highway while you can have diesel engine as well which gives 22 in city and 30 on highway with towing capacity of 7000 pounds.
Comfort & Safety:
It offers very comfortable and refined driving experience; Road bumps smoothed out pretty well, suspensions do good job at soaking up road bumps. Canyon seats are fairly comfortable with power adjusting, lumbar support and 3 way heating functionality for driver and front passenger. Some issues you can feel while driving the canyon are; 8 speed automatic transmission can feel jerky at times and doesn’t provide you the most consistent shift, front seats are lacking thigh support as well. There is okay amount of space on rear but not much roomy as Tacoma, Dual zone climate control is absent and Air vents are not available for rear seat passengers. Canyon is much smaller vehicle than full size pickup truck but visibility in canyon is decent, you will found plenty of glass area around.
