Pak Suzuki has discontinued the production of the 2nd generation, Suzuki Swift, from August 2021. Pak Suzuki Motors produced only 2432 units of Swift from August 2020 to August 2021. After the discontinuation of the 2nd generation Suzuki Swift, it introduced the 3rd generation Swift which launched on 24 Feb 2022. The Test mules of 3rd generation Swift was already imported and spotted on roads of Karachi, and we were expecting the hybrid version to launch first but only the petrol variant was introduced. The Suzuki Swift 2nd generation was launched in 2010 in Pakistan when it was replaced by the 3rd generation globally. The new generations of vehicles come to Pakistan when they have been discontinued globally. The same is the case with the 3rd generation Suzuki Swift, it has been discontinued in 2021 globally and now the 4th generation is on the way, and when it is dead in the rest of the world, the new generation has arrived in Pakistan this year. The 3rd generation Suzuki Swift is also expected to be available in the hybrid version later on as per the government incentives the automobile companies on hybrid vehicles. The Toyota Indus has also announced its plans for hybrid cars in Pakistan, and Pak Suzuki is also going in the flow. The previous generation Suzuki Swift with a 1.3-liter engine was not a good seller and was listed at the bottom of all local cars, so the discontinuation of the Suzuki Swift was not a shock to the customers. The introduction of the Suzuki Swift will attract customers looking for a fuel-efficient vehicle. The 4th generation Suzuki Swift will be launching globally in July 2022, but we have to wait for another couple of years to have it in Pakistan after retiring from the rest of the world. The 3rd generation Suzuki Swift has been launched in Pakistan by Feb 2022 but it will not be wrong to say it is a high-priced vehicle with low-value features.

Engine & Powertrain:
The 3rd generation Suzuki Swift is available in various engine choices internationally but the one launched in Pakistan 1.2-liter K-Series DOHC VVT petrol engine that generates a maximum of 81 horsepower with 113nm of torque and is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed CVT transmission. Further, this front-wheel vehicle has a cruise control option on higher trims for a more relaxing drive on the highway.

The HEARTECT platform of Suzuki Swift has a smoothly curving frame, and it increases the stiffness and rigidity of the vehicle. It also contributes to providing safety in collisions by dispersing energy efficiently. The Hill Assist feature in Suzuki Swift gives peace of mind to the drivers in driving the car on steep roads and hilly areas. The torque is distributed automatically to the rear wheels when the front wheels are losing grip so you can go on long-route adventures safely. The 3rd generation Suzuki Swift has a parking sensor and rear view for more agile parking that reduces the risk of collision from the vehicle or obstacles behind. The high beam assist headlights switch the light between high and low depending on the lighting environment on roads and other vehicles. It will have a fuel capacity of 37 liters and can give an average of thirty-two kilometers per liter.
Exterior Design & Features:
The Suzuki Swift 3rd generation has muscular body lines that give it a powerful presence, and the bold chrome-accented grille on the front looks beautiful. The LED headlights look aggressive and come with daytime running lights, while the floating roof and pillar-mounted rear door handle make Swift stand out among other hatchbacks. The back door handles are placed unusually into the windows, and the Swift looks more like a 3-door sporty hatchback. There are trapezium-styled taillights at the rear, and the front also has circular fog lights. The exterior is well-proportioned and looks elegant.
Interior Design & Features:
The interior of the Suzuki Swift is elegant and straightforward, with clean lines and details, giving a comfortable driving experience. The cockpit has cylindrical gauges, and the steering wheel comes with a silver lining that gives a feeling of confidence to the drivers. The two scaled meters look stylish and show fuel gauges, water temperature, and speed. There is a 4.2-inch TFT LCD in the center of the meter cluster which informs about the vehicle’s data the drivers like engine output, torque, and brake use. There is a 9 inches touch screen mounted on the dashboard that connects with your smartphone through Bluetooth and USB cables, and it comes with a radio, navigation, and display of the rearview camera. The cabin comes with various storage spaces for your convenience, including a glove box, console box tray, front door pocket, rear cup holder, back door bottle holder, and passenger-seatback pocket. The luggage space in the trunk lets you carry luggage bags for a weekend trip, and the rear seats can fold down to increase the luggage space. The cabin has a low seating position and generous head clearance that can accommodate four adults comfortably while the driver’s seat is height adjustable for more relaxing driving, and the seats have cloth upholstery that looks simple and nice. The 3rd generation Suzuki Swift will be 85 kilograms lighter than its predecessor based on the new HEARTECT platform that delivers better performance.
