Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) has initiated a new crackdown targeting vehicles that emit smoke or are equipped with pressure horns. The decision to enforce this measure was made under the specific instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, as stated by ICTP’s public relations officer (PRO) during a media briefing.
In order to address the issue of environmental pollution caused by vehicles, all Zonal Deputy Superintendents have been instructed to take stringent action against offending vehicles. To effectively carry out this campaign against vehicles that contribute to environmental and noise pollution, dedicated teams have been deployed by the police department.
These specialized squads have been assigned the task of patrolling various areas and major boulevards across the city to identify non-compliant vehicles. Stringent measures will be taken against such vehicles, and those with multiple warnings will be impounded.
The squads will conduct regular inspections and issue fines to vehicles found in violation of noise and environmental pollution regulations within the city. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide the citizens of Islamabad with a clean and healthy environment while ensuring their safety and well-being
