Job Listing Hints at Apple and Amazon Music in Lucid Motors’ Cars
Lucid Motors, the company that makes the Air all-electric sedan, posted a job listing on LinkedIn. They may add Apple and Amazon Music support to its cars. They are looking for a Senior Product Manager, Media Partner Management. This person will handle things for Apple, Amazon Music, and other media app partners.
It means the Air sedan and the upcoming Gravity SUV could have buttons built-in for Apple and Amazon Music, similar to how Tesla has direct integration with Apple Music, Tidal, Spotify, and more.
We’ve asked Lucid Motors for an official comment. We’ll let you know when they respond. Also, it’s good to know that Lucid already offers Apple CarPlay (wired and wireless) in the Air EV, so these new app integrations would be an addition. Tesla owners, on the other hand, have to use the mentioned streaming services and Bluetooth.
The Lucid Air starts at $78,900 for the Pure RWD version with one rear-mounted electric motor that has 430 horsepower. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 124 mph. With the 88-kilowatt-hour Long Range battery, it can travel up to 410 miles on standard 19-inch wheels.
If that’s not your thing, Lucid has other versions too. At the top of the lineup is the $249,000 Air Sapphire, with a powerful 1,234 hp tri-motor setup, making it one of the most powerful four-door sedans ever. It can go from 0 to 60 in 1.89 seconds and hit a top speed of 205 mph.
The upcoming Gravity SUV, debuting soon, is expected to have the same power options as the Air.
