CATL and Huawei Unleash the Deepal S7 520Pro All-Electric SUV
Deepal, a collaboration between CATL, Huawei, and Changan, has introduced a new electric version of the 2023 Deepal S7 SUV, known as the 520Pro. It’s priced at 179,900 yuan, which is about 24,600 USD.
Sleek Design:
The Deepal S7 520Pro retains its sleek appearance from previous models. It features smooth sidelines, frameless doors, hidden door handles, and stylish five petal-shaped rims. The charging port is on the left, and the gas port is on the right rear fender. This mid-sized SUV measures 4750/1930/1625 mm with a 2900 mm wheelbase, offering a comfortable 5-seater layout.
Familiar Rear Look:
The rear of the Deepal S7 520Pro retains its familiar design with through-type taillights, a luminous car logo, and high-mounted brake lights.
Minimalistic Interior:
Inside, you’ll find a minimalist interior with a 15.6-inch central control screen equipped with Deepal OS. The two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel adds a modern touch, and there’s a 53-inch AR-HUD powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The central control screen supports intelligent voice commands for navigation and music control, Wi-Fi hotspots, Apple CarPlay, and Huawei HiCar.
Advanced Safety Features:
The Deepal S7 520Pro comes with a level 2 advanced driving assistance system. It utilizes six ultrasonic radars and three millimeter-wave radars, offering features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking for both vehicles and pedestrians, lane change assist, and blind spot monitoring.
Affordable Option:
Compared to the previous entry-level version, the Deepal S7 520Max, priced at 189,900 yuan (26,000 USD), the new 520Pro version is more budget-friendly, being 10,000 yuan cheaper. However, it doesn’t include features like fatigue driving monitoring, remote start, wireless charging, front seat heating and ventilation, rear armrest, and ambient lighting. The number of speakers has also been reduced from 14 to 8.
Powerful and Efficient:
The Deepal S7 520Pro is equipped with a rear single motor that delivers a maximum power of 190 kW and peak torque of 320 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. Its 66.8 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, supplied by CALB Group, provides a CLTC cruising range of 520 km. The power consumption per 100 km is 14.2 kWh.
