Volkswagen’s Taigun Gets Adventurous with GT Edge Trail
The VW Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition costs Rs 16.3 lakh ($19,588) in India, which is about the same as the regular GT trim. If you want more features, you can choose the pricier GT Plus or the sportier-looking GT Edge Limited Edition.
This special edition Taigun is a competitor to the Hyundai Creta Adventure Edition, also available in India. It comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine that makes 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The power goes to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Inside, it gets leatherette seats with Trail badges, puddle lights, stainless steel pedals, and a dashcam. It also comes with a 10-inch infotainment system, a rearview camera, and a wireless charging pad. But it doesn’t have a digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, ventilated seats, full LED headlights, or six airbags, which you can find in the higher-spec GT Plus trim.
The special edition Taigun has black and red stickers on its rear side, saying “Trail,” and a Trail Edge emblem on the back. It also has roof bars for extra usefulness. The SUV rides on 17-inch black alloy wheels and has a black roof, which can go with white, silver, or grey exteriors.
Volkswagen’s Indian-made SUV, the VW Taigun, has a new special edition called the GT Edge Trail. This version adds some cool looks to the car to make it seem more adventurous, even though it only has front-wheel drive.
