Mustang GT with California Special Package
The 2024 Ford Mustang GT California Special is already available to order, adding a cost of $1,995 to the price of the GT Premium. As with the latter, the package is exclusively available with the 5.0-liter V8 engine, paired to either a 6-speed manual or an optional 10-speed automatic. The new GT/CS will make its public debut at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16.
After the introduction of the GT/CS, Mustang Brand Manager, Joe Bellino, hinted at more special editions of the pony car for the future, stating, “Mustang has a rich well of special edition models to draw from, and we’ll continue to reinvent them for a new audience”.
Just before the Mustang turns 60 in 2024, Ford has brought back the California Special for the 7th-gen model. The 2024 Mustang GT California Special comes in Fastback and Cabrio styles, with cool Rave Blue touches outside and inside.
The first California Special came out in 1968. In 2007, Ford revived it as a special look option. This time, the new version stands out with special Rave Blue details on the nose, wheels, and emblems. The car also has dark-tinted headlights, the GT/CS badge on the grille, and side graphics mixing Medium Light Rave Blue with Black elements.
Inside, the seats have Navy Pier and Ebony Black leather with dual-color stitching in Raptor Blue and Metal Gray. The GT/CS package name is on the dashboard, matching the GT/CS floor mats.
The 19-inch alloy wheels have a cool Carbonized Gray finish and a Rave Blue GT/CS logo. If you want more style, you can choose the 19-inch Performance Pack wheels with a machined face and Rave Blue pockets.
