Effective from 29th April, the price of the Active variant has been reduced by Rs 350,000 while that of the Allure variant has been slashed by Rs 450,000. After the revision, the Peugeot 2008 Active is now available for PKR 66.0 lac while the flagship Allure variant is now priced at PKR 72.5 lac. Though the notification mentions this is a limited-time offer.
More interestingly, the price reduction is in the wake of LMC celebrating 5 years of its CKD operations in Pakistan but the price of all Kia variants sparing Stonic remains intact. Bear in mind LMC started its CKD operations with Kia Sportage back in 2019, followed by Picanto, Sorento, and then Stonic. Contrary to this, the Peugeot brand itself is hardly 2 years old in the country.
But LMC seems to be more interested in bringing down Peugeot prices rather than Kia. That’s probably because of the ailing sales of the French brand in Pakistan. LMC sold exactly 1,000 units of Peugeot 2008 in calendar year 2023 in comparison with 1,590 units sold a year earlier in 2022 rendering a 37% year-on-year decline in sales. The current sales average is less than 80 units a month which isn’t impressive at all.
Following a massive reduction in Kia Stonic prices, Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) is now offering another significant price reduction for Peugeot 2008 in Pakistan.
Bear in mind the company has been offering various incentives such as a 0% interest installment offer, year-end discounts, and a price reduction announced just last month to pump up the declining sales. Nevertheless, with the latest price revision, the Peugeot 2008 will likely get a short-term boost in sales.
