Wuling, the renowned Chinese automaker celebrated for its production of budget-friendly vehicles, has recently unveiled the electric iteration of its Stalight sedan, a follow-up to last year’s PHEV model. The Wuling Starlight EV arrives with an enticing price point, continuing the brand’s tradition of affordability. Available in two versions, the electric sedan boasts a price tag of 99,800 yuan ($13,800/ PKR 38.4 lac) for the 410 Standard Edition and 109,800 yuan ($15,100/ PKR 42.03 lac) for the 510 Advanced Edition.

Design

In terms of design, the EV version of the Starlight diverges slightly from its PHEV counterpart. Notably, the front end sports a closed fascia, sharper headlamps, and a modified bumper, omitting the mesh grille and the full-width light bar present in the PHEV model. However, the dimensions remain consistent, measuring 4,835/1,860/1,515 mm with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. The vehicle rides on 18-inch star-shaped alloy rims and boasts a drag coefficient of 0.228Cd.

Interior Features

Internally, the dashboard retains its layout from the Starlight PHEV. Key features include air-conditioning vents spanning the dashboard and a concentration of functions on the 15.6-inch central control screen (10.1-inch for the 410 Standard Edition) and the 8.8-inch LED instrument panel. Notably, only the 510 Advanced Edition is equipped with Ling OS, facilitating GPS navigation, OTA updates, and voice recognition control. Additional amenities include a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, front and rear USB ports, and ISOFIX car seat anchorage. Moreover, both variants feature Level-2 advanced driving assistance functions, including adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning.

Battery and Charging

The 410 Standard Edition is furnished with a 41.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, enabling a CLTC cruising range of 410 km, reflecting its variant name. On the other hand, the 510 Advanced Edition features a 54.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC cruising range of 510 km. Fast charging replenishes the battery from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes for both models.
