There are many things similar in Acura models like Acura TLX and RLX has a similar exterior and interior designs. There was a time when Acura built a car with the name “legend” but this new model of RLX is not like it should be. This car was launched in the year 2013 during that time this was really a competition for other companies but with the passing of time Acura didn’t show as well as it has to. Different people have different views some people say that this new model of RLX is not able to inherit the true properties of its ancestor but it is still a car that is fun to drive and looks good. Let’s explore its good and bad aspects after which you will be able to know how good or how bad this car is.
Major Update in 2018:
The 2018 RLX underwent a redesign that was influenced by the 2016 Acura Precision Concept. The updated model features a more contoured hood, new wheel designs, LED taillights with a new design, dual exhaust outlets with sleek finishers, and a rear diffuser with a high-gloss black finish. Additionally, the previous year’s model’s controversial brushed chrome “beak” grille has been replaced by a sleek diamond pentagon grille.

Exterior, Interior Design & Features:
As I mention earlier Acura cars usually give similar look, this Acura RLX 2017 has the same shield-looking or Mustache grill that looks good to some people but a lot of people didn’t like its appearance they want something new or something changed.
One best things about Acura is its July Headlamps that give sharp look and bold appearance to its overall design and front of the car. Moving to the side of the Acura RLX it has 19-inch Aluminum alloy wheels, here one thing can be seen clearly if we see TLX and RLX they both look quite similar.
One nice thing about the Acura car is its built quality which is absolutely outstanding, this is a solid car you can feel that thorough out its body by touching it. On the Rear, it has led tail lamps that look much similar to the front July headlamps.
Inside Acura RLX there has been used leather sitting but still there are many complaints by customers that they don’t feel as if they are sitting inside a luxury vehicle. The console and dashboard of the car give sporty look but the design is a little complicated and makes it difficult to adjust or use it.
The infotainment screen is good but if we compare it with other cars of the same class like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz all of these have much better infotainment screens and navigation systems.
Engine, Power & Transmission:
This Acura RLX Sedan has loaded with a 3.5 Liter Premium Unleaded V6 engine that has 6 inline cylinders. It produces a peak torque of 368@4500 Rpm with 310 Horsepower. The top speed of the car is 133 miles per hour and it takes on 5.8 seconds to reach 0-60 miles per hour.
It has 20 miles per gallon fuel economy within the city while 30 miles per gallon on the highway. The base version of the Acura RLX has better fuel economy with 4 cylinders. It has 6 speeds automatic sequential sport shift paddle shifter and electric power-assist speed-sensing steering wheel.
Comfort Features:
I will give full marks to its comfort zone, both front and rear cabins are so much spacious that there is plenty of head and leg room even adults with six feet of height will have no problem. Front driver and passenger seats have 12-way power-adjustable and four-way lumbar support.
All seats have heating options whereas the front seats have ventilation too. Another important and good thing that may not be present in a lot of other cars is a sunshade for all five windows. It has tri-zone climate control with a voice activation option; rear seats have their own air vents from where rear seat passengers can adjust the temperature according to choice.
Safety & Features:
The 2019 RLX earned a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but the 2020 RLX wasn’t named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Still, both models have a comprehensive suite of standard driver-assistance technology.
- Vehicle stability assist electronic stability controls (ESC)
- ABS and driveline traction control
- Side impact beams
- Dual-stage driver and passenger seat-mounted side airbags
- Blind spot sensor
- Forward collision
- Lane departure warning

- Curtain 1st and 2nd row airbags
- Airbag occupancy sensor
- Driver knee airbag
- Rear child safety locks

Pros & Cons:
Pros:

- innumerable standard features
- NSX-derived hybrid system.
Cons:

- The interior doesn’t feel luxurious
