A Comprehensive Facelift for Haval H6 Unveiled by Great Wall Motor

Great Wall Motors (GWM) has recently unveiled the highly anticipated facelifted version of the Haval H6, their popular SUV model. This third-generation H6, which initially debuted in 2020, has received a comprehensive update after three years since its initial launch. The refreshed design showcases a more refined and subtle appearance, particularly evident in the redesigned front fascia. The closed grille design now features a wider grille on the front bumper, complemented by several horizontal bars for added visual appeal.

While specific interior images have yet to be released by Haval, photos available on the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website provide some insights into the updated H6’s rear design. The rear of the new Haval H6 boasts revised taillights with a more restrained design, connected by a blackened strip that adds a touch of sophistication. Below the taillights, a prominent HAVAL lettering adds a sense of distinction and brand identity. The rear bumper is fitted with a rectangular exhaust outlet on each side, giving the vehicle a sporty aesthetic. Vertically placed reflective elements at the outer edges further contribute to the overall visual appeal. It’s important to note that the hybrid version of the H6 may feature some subtle variations in its fascia compared to the regular variant, possibly highlighting its eco-friendly credentials.

In terms of dimensions, the updated Haval H6 measures 4,711/1,940/1,730mm, with a wheelbase of 2,738mm. While slightly longer and wider than the current model, the wheelbase remains the same, ensuring a familiar driving experience for existing H6 owners. This size configuration strikes a balance between providing ample interior space and maneuverability in urban environments.

The current Haval H6 offers a range of engine options, including turbocharged 1.5T and 2.0T units, with the latter producing an output of 211 horsepower. With the facelifted H6, Haval plans to retain the 1.5T engine while introducing an upgraded 2.0T unit that will be available in two states of power. The more powerful version is expected to generate an impressive 238 horsepower, providing an exhilarating driving experience. Additionally, Haval will introduce a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant of the H6, showcasing their commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly mobility solutions. The PHEV variant is anticipated to feature GWM’s latest Hi4 hybrid technology, combining electric and gasoline power for enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions.

The Haval H6 has consistently performed well in the Chinese domestic market and has gained popularity internationally as well. From January to May of this year alone, the H6 achieved impressive sales figures, with a cumulative total of 75,869 units sold in China. May accounted for 14,793 units, solidifying its position as the best-selling model under the Haval brand. This success can be attributed to the H6’s blend of attractive design, strong performance, and well-rounded capabilities.

With the facelifted H6, Haval aims to further strengthen its appeal to customers by enhancing its design, powertrain options, and technological advancements. The updated exterior design gives the H6 a more refined and sophisticated look, aligning it with current market trends. The introduction of the more powerful 2.0T engine variant will cater to enthusiasts seeking exhilarating performance, while the inclusion of a PHEV variant showcases Haval’s commitment to sustainable mobility. The Haval H6’s popularity both domestically and globally is a testament to its strong performance, attractive design, and versatile capabilities.
