The Hyundai Ioniq debuted in 2016 at the New York Auto show and was introduced in three versions hybrid, electric, and plug-in powertrains. The Ioniq was discontinued in South Korea in 2021, and Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Ioniq 7 replaced it. The electric Ioniq was first introduced in the USA in 2019 and was discontinued in the United States market in the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq model. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was introduced in 2022 in the United States of America and is based on Hyundai 45 EV design, built on the E-GMP platform. It is available in two powertrain options. It is available in limited units at selected dealers of Hyundai in the United States of America. It is ranked number one out of eight electric SUVs in the USA. It is quick and powerful and gives a supple ride to enjoy. Hyundai has announced a new model of Hyundai Ioniq 5 with fast charging ability and offers an impressive driving range. The Hyundai Ioniq debuted in 2021 and is already a new model, so subtle equipment changes are introduced in the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq. It will give a higher EPA rating compared to the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq will offer a battery heating system, preconditioning system, and EV fast charging, standard in all trims. It can tow up to 2300 pounds load, except for the SE variant. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been spotted on public roads in the United States and must be released this year. Hyundai has not released any confirmed information about the new model. The camouflaged images show an N performance badge on the trunk lid, indicating it will be a powerful SUV. It will be available in three trim levels, and a few changes will be introduced according to the camouflage images. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq will be revealed officially within a couple of months. Trims & Variants: 

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available in three trim levels:

SE: it offers Cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a 12.3-inches touch screen, 6-speakers audio system, a USB port, adaptive cruise control, and standard driver assistance features.

SEL: it offers synthetic leather upholstery, a wireless charging device, a hands-free power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and parking sensors at the front.

Limited: it offers ventilated front seats, a head-up display, an 8-speaker audio system, a panoramic sunroof, an adjustable passenger seat, and a surround-view camera.

Powertrain & Transmission:

The  Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available in single and dual motor options. It offers rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The rear-wheel-drive Ioniq 5 has a single electric motor and battery size of 195 kW, and the all-wheel-drive has two electric motors and a larger battery size of 272 kW. Either single or dual motor options, the Ioniq 5 offers single-speed transmission. It offers Macpherson strut coil suspension with coil springs at the front and multi-link suspension at the rear. It has 4-wheel disc brakes with regenerative brake level control paddlers.

Performance & Drive: 

The rear-wheel-drive Hyundai Ioniq 5 generates 225 hp of power and a 258 lb-ft of torque, while the all-wheel-drive Hyundai Ioniq 5 generates 168 hp of power and a torque of 258 lb-ft. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has surprising driving dynamics and turns around corners confidently with little body roll. The regenerative brakes in Hyundai Ioniq are smooth and make the ride delightful. It offers various driving modes, among which the Eco mode is switched from Normal mode when energy is to be conserved, and the Sport mode delivers a sporty ride.

Exterior Design & Features:

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a vintage hatchback style inspired by Hyundai’s Pony. It has a smooth roofline arc that looks compact, and the bitmap-type details at the front and back look squat in the pictures. The diagonal slashes across the body and the sporty wheels give it a bolder look. The aerodynamic design of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 defies wind, and its twin array spoiler, short overhangs, and flush door handle make it look appealing to every eye.
