There is not much competition in pickup truck category, in Pakistan there is only one well known open cabin SUV or call it pickup truck is Hilux Revo by Toyota. No Honda, Suzuki or another brand is showing interest in this section and it’s been bout more than a decade that none of the competitor for Toyota pickup trucks arrived in market.
But as we are noticing and witnessing the changes in market due to upcoming competitors, Discontinuation of Suzuki Mehran means lot is going to change in the market.
So many competitors of Hilux Revo are expected to launch in Pakistan in Upcoming years those includes ISUZU D-Max, Volkswagen Amarok, and foton Tunland but among all of these the most important is JAC T6 by Nissan because above mentioned competitors didn’t give any details and did not bring any testing CBU units in Pakistan. But recently as per resources Nissan bring some CBU unites of JAC T6 in Pakistan for testing purposes, According to details the imported unites are having 2.0L diesel turbo engine that produce 134 HP@3600rpm. It works using 6 speed manual transmission and has capacity to tow 1041 KG weight. As we all know that Hilux Revo not used for towing purposes but used for show up and security purposes in Pakistan, because these pickup trucks are expensive and people in Pakistan use these for personal purposes. But good thing is that with the arrival of competitors the Pakistani market and economy will surely grow.
