New Hyper HT SUV by GAC Aion Takes the Stage in China

China’s GAC Aion has recently unveiled its latest addition, the Hyper HT SUV, following the release of intriguing images of this electric vehicle online. The Hyper HT now joins the ‘Hyper’ model lineup of GAC Aion, sitting alongside the Hyper GT and the Hyper SSR.

Variety in Performance

The base model of the Hyper HT employs a 400-volt system. While the exact battery size isn’t disclosed, it features an electric motor with 241 horsepower (180 kW) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque located at the rear wheels. Although these figures may not be groundbreaking, they allow the SUV to reach 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a reasonable 6.8 seconds. This version is rated to travel up to 373 miles (600 km) on a single charge, with an extra 87 miles (140 km) of range achievable in just 10 minutes of charging.

Three other versions of the Hyper HT come equipped with an advanced 800-volt system and share a 335 horsepower (250 kW) electric motor delivering 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. These models accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 5.8 seconds. Two of them provide a range of 416 miles (670 km) on one charge and support rapid charging, which can add 258 miles (415 km) of range in just 15 minutes. The flagship model boasts an extended range of 479 miles (770 km) and gains an impressive 280 miles (450 km) of range in only 10 minutes. This model also incorporates LiDAR sensors.

Vehicle Dimensions and Styling

According to data from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Hyper HT has dimensions of 4,935 mm (194.2 inches) in length, 1,920 mm (75.5 inches) in width, 1,700 mm (66.9 inches) in height, and a 2,935 mm (115.5-inch) wheelbase.

The SUV’s exterior design is understated, featuring simple headlights, small air curtains, and a sleek lower grille. A notable highlight is the second-row gullwing doors, which draw inspiration from the Tesla Model X.

Inside the cabin, you’ll discover a modern flat-bottom steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The SUV is equipped with a large central infotainment display, two wireless charging pads, and a floating center console with ample storage space below. Rear passengers can recline their seats and use a small footrest, while the front passenger seat can fold flat to create a spacious area for rear passengers to stretch out. The SUV also includes a full panoramic glass roof as standard.

GAC Aion’s Hyper HT adds excitement to China’s electric vehicle market, offering various versions to cater to different preferences and needs.
