Dongfeng Sokon is a joint venture between Dongfeng and Chongqing Sokon group and has become the 2nd largest automobile company in China. It entered the Pakistani automobile market through Regal Automobiles Industries Limited after it acquired a Greenfield status under the Auto Development Policy of 2016 to 2021. It has launched DFSK Glory Pro, a crossover SUV, and a K01S Mini truck in Pakistan. Now it is time for Seres 3 to launch in Pakistan and the much speculated Seres 3 test units have arrived at the Karachi port. Another vehicle DFSK 500, is expected by DFSK in Pakistan. Subcompact SUVs have become immensely popular in Pakistan in a couple of years, and automobile companies are manufacturing SUVs locally in Pakistan. The SERES 3 by DFSK is an all-electric subcompact SUV, having a similar design to DFSK Glory 500, and will give great competition to MG ZS EV. All-electric SUVs are not very common in Pakistani markets, and thus DFSK SERES 3 will have less competition in the market. It will be developed on a pure electric SUV platform, delivering an exceptionally-powerful performance. It offers a spacious interior, and the cabin comes with a neat finish, and a 10.25-inches screen gives infotainment, while fairly-good materials are used inside the car. It is known as Fengon E3 in China and DFSK Glory Seres 3 in export markets. It was expected in Pakistan by the end of 2021 but, its launch was postponed and has an expected launch in the next couple of years.
Trims & Variants:
The DFSK SERES 3 is available in only one version. It will offer only one battery size, and the features and specs will be given as standard. It will provide variations in exterior colors. You can purchase it in red, white, and blue exterior colors. Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera; 18-inch alloy wheels, and metallic paint.
Powertrain & Transmission:
The DFSK SERES 3 has an electric motor run by a 53.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that generates a maximum of 163 hp of power and torque of 300 Nm. it offers a single-speed transmission. The lithium-ion batteries have a fast-charging capacity and charge easily and quickly through AC or fast chargers. It comes with a Macpherson strut suspension at the front and a torsion beam semi-independent strut suspension at the rear axle.
Performance & Drive:
The three-phase asynchronous electric motor delivers enough power to the front wheels and offers front-wheel-drive only. The single-speed transmission runs the car smoothly, and the driver doesn’t need to change the gears with increasing speed, and in one-pedal driving, you have to apply brakes when a vehicle comes buzzing toward you. The suspension system is well-tuned, giving a smooth ride quality by absorbing all the bumps and shocks. The steering wheel is electrically assisted and gives you confident control of the car, easily parking your car in narrow parking lanes. The car’s handling maneuvers are incredible, enabling you to curve or turn the car around corners confidently without disturbing the passenger’s comfort. The car’s acceleration is quick, taking 8.9 seconds to speed up from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour with a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The DFSK Seres 3 claims an electric range of 405 kilometers with a single charge. Charging of DFSK Seres 3’s battery is quite convenient and can be charged at home and at charging stations. The AC chargers at home take 8 hours to fully charge the battery, while the DC fast chargers take thirty minutes to charge the battery from twenty percent to eighty percent. The 53.6 kWh battery of DFSK Seres 3 claims an electric range of 405 kilometers. It is an environment-friendly car and produces no gaseous exchange, while no cobalt is used in lithium-ion batteries. It offers the options of three driving modes that are Eco, Normal mode, and Sport mode. The Normal mode is used in the everyday drive, while the Eco mode consumes less energy than other modes and is opted for when driving long routes. The Sport mode is used when you drive the car at faster speeds keeping the sporty character.
Exterior Design & Features:
The DFSK Seres 3 is a normal-looking SUV with a total length of 4385 millimeters, a width of 1850 millimeters, and a height of 1650 millimeters. It has a wheelbase of 2655 millimeters, making the passenger compartment spacious at the front and rear. The show has a black meshwork grille, having Seres logo on it, and sleek LED headlamps are flanked by it. It also has two foglights to enlighten your path in extreme weather conditions. The rear is traditional SUV style with a dominating trunk gate and two sleek LED taillamps, while 18-inches alloy wheels enhance its sporty character.
Interior Design & Features:
The inside of DFSK Seres 3 is spacious with generous legroom and headroom, and tall passengers can fit comfortably in it. It gives a seating capacity for 5 adults, and the seats are covered with leather that offers a premium feel to the cabin and makes the journey comfortable. The front seats come with an electric indentation and heating technology and the driver’s seat is comfortable enough, so the driver does not get tired on a long route journey. The trunk capacity is comparatively smaller and offers 318 liters of capacity, and it can be increased to 1500 liters when the rear seats are folded. The dashboard is designed neatly and has physical buttons functions, and the steering wheel is not adjustable in depth. There is a 10.25-inches touch screen mounted on the dashboard that gives infotainment and comes with Smartphone connectivity. A panoramic sunroof opens and closes electrically, adding bright light and fresh air to the cabin. You will get a wireless charging pad in the cabin to charge your smartphones anywhere you need, and an automatic climate control feature will maintain the temperature inside the cabin.
