Hyundai’s are usually cursed for their non-premium looks and cheap plastic interior in the room. While the Korean manufacturers provide competitively cheaper vehicles than the others, people will pay extra for the looks and feel if they have some extra bucks in their pocket. However during the past year and so there seems to be a change in the trend of styling and design in Hyundai’s lineup which can be noticed right from Hyundai Sonata to all the way Grand Starex. This means that Hyundai is finally launching its vehicle up to the mark in order to compete and claim the market shares. Hyundai Starex, therefore, has now differentiated itself from the regular people carrier vehicle. As for the lower trims of 2nd gen Hyundai Grand Starex 2019, they remain the same while the higher-spec trim has availed all the updates stated.
What’s more to the list?
Hyundai Grand Starex apart from the updated exquisite grille and sharp front lamps offers some more noteworthy features. The 17’inch wheels add to the styling and beauty of the van paired with side steps boards. The premium look further extends to the interior of the van where the two-tone interior is offered to serve as a more up-notch look. The luxurious feel of two-tone paint inside the room is what differentiates the inside experience of top trim from the lower trims not only from the outside but also inside. Although there are no major upgrades in terms of the body, Hyundai still gave the seats a new premium brown leather along with the new dashboard. The newer Hyundai Grand Starex 2019 can accommodate 9 people in total with front 2-rows of seating supporting captain seating symmetry.

Hyundai Grand Starex 2019 comes with a lustful of useful options required in any MPV. Inside the independent climate control maintains atmosphere pleasant and controlled decently. The touchscreen infotainment panel is fitted on central stock at the front whereas the rear passengers can enjoy their drop-down LED in the rear during the move on the road. In addition to the internal interactions, the Hyundai Grand Starex is fitted with a dual sunroof which is standard in all trims. The seats have independent seat belts thanks to strict European standards. The seats are comfortable with the headrests being able to move upside down. The headroom is spacious enough within every row for a comfortable stretch out. The rearview mirror is Day and Night for best vision. The lamp roof is fitted for better lighting while tripping commuters in the meter. The seats are finished with fabric in lower trims while leather seats come in higher facelift trim. The doors are centrally locked.
Engine and performance:
There’s nothing good in the van unless it drives well on road. Sluggish performance is the last thing you want in a fancy van. However, this is not the case in Hyundai Grand Starex 2019-2021 as it is powered by a 2.4L MPI four-cylinder engine Generates 175 ps @6000 rpm with maximum torque of 228nm@4200 rpm. The engine is available in petrol as well as diesel depending upon the market, In the Pakistani Market, only Petrol Engine is available. As for the drivetrain, the Grand Starex runs of its rear wheels shifting through a 5-speed transmission (Manual and Automatic). The diesel engine spins out 450 nm torque at 2000-2250 RPM (No available in Pakistan).

Suspension & Braking:
Cruising down the road with family, bumps can be uncomfortable, especially with the kids hanging around in the car. The Hyundai Grand Starex 2019 front comes with MacPherson w/ Coil Spring suspension. Quite honestly it isn’t the best or most suitable option available in the market however the ride still feels nicer when cruising practically. As for the rear it is equipped with Rigid Axle 5-link w/ Coil Spring. As for the braking it has disc brakes combined with drum brakes at the back. With a minimum turning radius of 5.61 m and the steering being Hydraulic Power Steering HPS with tilt-adjust functionality.
Safety:
As for the safety department, Hyundai Grand Starex 2019 isn’t great. Hence only 2 bags for the driver and passenger seat. In addition, it has Electronic Stability Control ESP and Anti-locking Braking System ABS. Furtherly it also has a back warning system is also present for further safety.
