Hyundai the sister company of KIA has evolved nicely from making/producing low-priced vehicles to high-quality stylish vehicles including SUVs, Sedans & Hatchbacks. Hyundai Tucson is in production since 2004 while currently 3rd generation of vehicles selling around the globe which was launched back in 2015. The major facelift is done in Tucson in 2019 with many prominent changes to its exterior and interior design and features. Hyundai Company is not new to the Pakistani market, it also stands among the old companies in Pakistan like Toyota, Suzuki, and Honda, it used to assemble cars until 2004 but due to the bankruptcy of its partner Dewan Farroque Motors Hyundai was helpless to leave but now after 13 years of wait Hyundai has returned back with a very strong partner Nishat Mills which is the subsidiary of Nishat Group.
In Pakistan Currently, five vehicles of Hyundai available with price tags ranging from 45 lacks PKR to 190 lacks PKR, vehicles include Hyundai Santa Fe GLS, Grand Starex, Hyundai H-100 porter, Hyundai Ioniq, and finally the Tucson.

Trims & Variants:
Tucson was displayed by Nishat in 2017 during the groundbreaking ceremony of the official launch but officially company unveiled and Launched Hyundai Tucson on 10-august-2020 via a digital online event streamed to the selected audience due to the covid-19 epidemic. Internationally Hyundai Tucson is available in about 5 different variants but in Pakistan, two variants of Tucson has launched including front-wheel-drive GLS sport and All-wheel Drive ultimate with a price tag of 49 lacs and 54 lacs but right after the day of launch, Hyundai increased the prices of Tucson and currently FWD GLS sport is available in 51 lacs PKR whereas AWD ultimate is available for 56 lacks PKR.
Both the variants of Tucson are equipped with a 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder engine. They have a tremendous list of features including tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, adjustable front seats, ABS brakes, stability control, etc (Complete list) but the major differences are; AWD is ultimately equipped with a hands-free tailgate system, leather seats and has 8-way adjustable option with 2-way lumbar support both for driver and front passenger while GLS sport is FWD while having fabric seats and 8-way adjustable seats with lumbar support only for the driver.
Engine & Power:
As mentioned earlier both the variants are equipped with a 2.0 liter 4 inline cylinder engine that generates 155 hp@6200 rpm with maximum torque of 196nm@4000rpm paired with six speeds automatic transmission.
Performance & Fuel Economy:
The international version of Tucson produces 164hp with a 2.0-liter engine which is now upgraded to the 2.4-liter engine with 181hp but as per review and tests done by car and driver, the 2.0-liter engine didn’t deliver the best performance, especially in terms of acceleration while the fuel economy of Tucson is also average in the segment which is 11-12 kilometers per liter (matches the EPA mentioned by the company).
Ride Quality & Comfort:
The happiness of car passengers, drivers,s or customers is directly proportional to the comfort and security provided inside it. The heater, air conditioner, cup holder, coat hanger, front-rear armrest, relining, and sliding front seats are primitive needs that have been effectuated by Hyundai to sustain comfort level on top with more added comfort. The ride quality of the Hyundai Tucson is much better without any doubt, as compared to the past models, suspensions are better tuned which handles larger bumps so smoothly and comfortably. The handling of the vehicle is not extraordinarily sporty but it is competitive in its segment. Well, a weighted steering wheel and less body roll provide confidence while changing direction. It gives a smooth, comfortable, and well-composed ride despite having a high center of gravity. Sport variant gives little improvement for sporty behavior but that is not enough to surpass or to fight against the major rivals in the class.
Exterior Design & Features:
This Hyundai Tucson is an SUV body type car that has a most fantastic look for their customers with an exterior available in eight beautiful eye-catching colors. The overall length and width of the car are 4480 mm and 1850 mm with astonishing body shapes. The current Model Tucson was facelifted in 2019 with a newly redesigned front grille with four horizontal chrome bars. The rear of the vehicle has not changed much but is quite similar to the previous models. Moreover, there have been added LED headlamps, tail lamps, and daytime running lights on the front. On the rear side of the car, there is a present height mount stop lamp and a single stainless steel exhaust. The body of the car is made using clear coat paint that same body paint is applied on door handles, mirrors, and bumpers the whole car looks one a masterpiece. The Hyundai Tuscon design is clearly focused on passenger space rather than cargo space which is actually good because it is more practical. Security and safety are always on top to aggrandize the Hyundai brand and for the elimination of any ambiguities, they have added Two airbags instead of 6 ( available in international trims), an Antilock braking system, vehicle stability management, brake assist, electronic stability control, Downhill brake control, Hill-start assist control, Electronic parking brake, Immobilizer, parking camera & auto cruise control.
Major Competitors:
Kia Sportage, Toyota Rush, Honda CRV, Honda HRV, Proton X70, MG HS SUV, Honda BRV, DFSK Glory, Suzuki Vitara
Verdict:
The Hyundai Tucson might not top it in the league but it does deliver a good drive and comfort driving around the town. As for the question of which trims to buy, in my opinion, the Value trim makes it up for the right price and performance with a bigger faster engine and a handful of options. Therefore the Value trim is recommended if you opt to purchase Hyundai Tucson.
